Installation

A rack matrix, ready to install.

The Ami08Ami08D is an 8×8 digital audio matrix in a 19″ 1U rack format, with built-in rack ears for immediate mounting in a bay.

Its 8 balanced inputs and 8 balanced outputs on Euroblock connectors, input gain adjustable up to 48 dB and 48 V phantom power let you connect microphones, line sources and amplifiers with no extra adaptation.

The front-panel display shows the matrix IP address, its name and the input and output VU meters, for immediate visual monitoring of the installation.

Integration

Professional connectivity and protocols.

The front-panel 2 in / 2 out USB sound card connects a computer to the matrix both ways: it records what runs through the matrix — a conference picked up by the mics, for instance — and plays the computer’s audio back into the system. The 8 GPIO, configurable as inputs or outputs, open the door to integrating automation systems, sensors and third-party equipment.

Control is handled over RS232, RS485 and UDP, for integration into the widest range of control environments.

DSP

A powerful DSP for tailor-made processing.

The Ami08Ami08D features an ADI SHARC 21489 processor and a DSP that is fully configurable through the AmiControl software.

Automix, echo and ambient noise cancellation, parametric and graphic equalizers, delay, gate, compressor, limiter — every input and every output gets precise, independent processing.

The 16 exportable presets let you replicate a configuration identically across multiple sites in seconds.

Every source deserves the best processing.

The Ami08Ami08D has a fully configurable input DSP, enabled on demand according to the actual needs of the installation.

Dante

The Ami08D — the same matrix with the Dante network.

The Ami08D is the Dante version of the Ami08. It keeps exactly the same 8×8 analog connectivity, the same DSP features, the same control protocols and the same AmiControl software.

It adds an independent Dante 8×8 interface, carrying 8 additional digital audio channels over the existing IT network or a dedicated one — with no dedicated audio cabling at all.

A remote source, a microphone in another room, an output feeding a distant amplifier: everything travels over a single RJ45 cable.

Control & interface

An interface in your client’s own image.

The Ami08Ami08D is configured with the AmiControl software on Windows, then controlled day to day from Windows, Android or iOS.

In AmiControl, the installer visually builds the control interface delivered to the end user on Android and iOS: faders, buttons, source selectors, in a fully customized graphic environment — client logo, wallpaper, colors, element layout.

What the end user sees and touches is entirely up to the installer.

AmiControl — the configuration software.

The Ami08Ami08D is set up and configured with AmiControl, a Windows application available for download here.

User rights management precisely defines what each account can access — volume ranges, fader groups, visible functions. 59 input groups and 59 output groups act simultaneously on several linked channels.

The AmiCTL wall controllers.

The Ami08Ami08D is compatible with the AmiCTL1 (6 programmable buttons + rotary) and AmiCTL2 (rotary encoder + OLED display, up to 32 programmable menus) wall controllers, both PoE powered over a single network cable.

There is no limit to the number of controllers per matrix. The Android-based Nexus wall-mounted tablets let you deploy the custom AmiControl interface as a tailor-made wall control panel.

Command capture and third-party protocols.

The command capture tool built into AmiControl identifies and assigns each command without digging through a list — every command has its own identifier, and so does every action. The matrix communicates over RS232, RS485 and UDP for control and third-party integration. The 8 GPIO, configurable as inputs or outputs, interact directly with automation systems, presence sensors, home automation or any third-party equipment with dry contacts.

Routing

Any source, to any zone.

The Ami08Ami08D provides full 8 in / 8 out8 in / 8 out analog and 8 in / 8 out Dante matrixing, letting you send any source — analog or networked — to any zone, individually or mixed with others.

The built-in Automix automatically manages levels when several sources share the same space, for a natural result without manual intervention.

The 16 exportable user presets switch instantly from one configuration to another, or deploy the same configuration across several installations in seconds.
